One of the principal weapons of satanic attack against believers is discouragement. Discouragement can lead to apathy, depression, frustration and defeat. A discouraged person is never happy. Discouragement is not God’s will for you. 1 Sam 30:6, Ps 34:4-6.

Many things can lead to discouragement: Unfulfilled desires, shattered dreams, broken relationships, unpleasant immediate physical circumstances, delayed answers to prayer, financial pressures, family crises and many others. These are seasons of discouragement in the nation. Things are down. Nothing seems to be working alright. Hopes are shattered and there is pressure everywhere. The devil has put in place a package of problems to weaken our hands and get us discouraged. Rev. 12:1-11. But you must not be discouraged. Ps 3:1-11.

Rather than looking at the circumstances, look unto the Lord. He is your glory, the lifter of your head, the giver of hope and strength. All who look unto Him are ever brightened and their faces are never ashamed. Ps 3:3, 34:4-5

Rather than being ruled by what you hear or see around, stick to the word of God. Meditate in it and drink from its well of comfort and consolation. It is through the comfort of the scripture that we have hope and overcome discouragement. Romans 15:4, Acts 20:32. Rather than being tossed up and down

by problems and cares, settle down and pray meaningful. Intelligent prayers by which you cast all your cares upon Him because He cares for you. When this is done, you will be lifted out of the miry clay of discouragement and set on the rock of victory. Your desires shall be granted and the peace of God that passes all understanding shall flood your heart. Phil 4:6-7, Ps. 40:1-4, Ps 27:13-14
